The art of
word weaving is at the heart of AfriKAn cultures. The depth of knowledge and
literary skill displayed in traditional AfriKAn songs and stories (including
cosmologies, myths, and ‘poems’) are a testament to the living culture of word
weaving in AfriKA.
Although the
invasion of AfriKA and the cultural effacement that followed dealt a direct
blow to the culture of word weaving, this subtle art is still alive and flowing.
